....methinks his recent post-match comments suggest that a 'cookie may be missing from the jar' somewhere! C'mon Robbie ...just tell him straight ...."you always supported ...err ....ummm ....Oh yes, Tottenham as a boy ...."!! Get out of there son, the ships going down ....your life raft awaits you down your spiritual home in North London!
On his current form you can have him. Missing chances can be forgiven, but not if it's because you keep trying fancy flicks and moaning to teammates if they don't pass to you next time.
...but that's Robbie Keane! ...he loves having a moan and bit of banter....if it's not the opposition, it's the referee ....or as you mention...even his own team mates. He's a character ...that goes without saying ...but he certainly gives his all and will chase around the park all day for you.
Oh Rafa ..you make me laugh re your comments regarding the player you signed for £20M+ then let go for £12M just six months later! ....and it's always a delight to hear the comments of past 'legends of the red shirt eg. Roy Evans etc.. come out with the line "Rafa did the right thing telling Keane to go ...he just wasn't good enough for us at Liverpool".
Oh right, I see ....perhaps I missed something here ...of course Benitez has a marvelous record of turning fantastic goalscorers into failures. Poor old Dirk Kuyt. Get out of there mate ...go to a team where your natural ability and confidence isn't worn out of you with squad rotation. As for you Roy Evans - didn't exactly set the place alight did you with your transfers?? ...out goes Grobelaar and in come the ...er...legend that was ....ummm....Michael Stengaard (if my memory serves me!). Yeah, he was GREAT. Go back to the boot-room Roy!
By all means have a go Diggers, but get some basic facts right!!
Nothing like £20m has changed hands yet - who knows what the deal is with outstanding amounts and how that £12m might grow?
Didn't see Evans' comments, but he will usually tell any reporter what they want to hear for a small fee. Stensgard didt get a game I don't think - you're maybe thinking of Westerveld.
Dirk doesn;t get as many goals as he did in Holland for two reasons. 1 - its not as easy in England and 2 - he rarely plays as an out and out striker. Nothing to do with rotation, he's hardly missed a minute. He has a few qualities but natural ability isn't high up there!
..."arr-right! ..arr-right, caaaalm down!!!" You're right and I'm wrong re Westerveld ...although I'm sure I remember Stensgard somewhere down the line.
I mentioned Dirk because he's a classic case of a really good, promising player, that could score plenty of goals ...suddenly finding that his supply route dryed up (unless Gerrard is playing), and his opportunities at playing in his best position, ie. in the penalty box seemed to be overlooked. The system Benitez employs just doesn't get the rewards that are surely within Kuyt capabilities. He played well in internationals for Holland and he was (at the time) one of the most sought after strikers in Europe. I genuinely think he's a better player than most Liverpool fans would say.
As for Evans, yes there's plenty of ex-coaches / players that love a quick 'knee-jerk reaction' soundbite for a few bucks. We've got plenty at Spurs too. I think recently of the comments of Graham Roberts.
I am still staggered though at the outcome of the Robbie Keane saga. Benitez did DEFINITELY NOT get the best out of him. Whether its the system, the rotation or the 'I didn't sanction his move in the first place' excuse ...Keane is much better than the negative comments coming out of Anfield. He's not the World's best, but he certainly WAS good enough to put the red shirt on.
Anyway, we'll see in due course ...my main concern is that he leads from the front again for us and inspires Spurs to get out of the God awful mess they've collectively got themselves into.

Which is pretty much what Rafa has said. Question is how long do you give it to turn round, especially when someone offers an out which may minimise or even avoid a loss?
I hope the media and their followers lost a bundle on Rafa being the "next to go". The way things are shaping up he'll be the last man standing (apart from Podgy Hodgson of course!).

....what's all this???!!! ...don't you just love the tabloid gossip - now apparently Rafa is after our 4th choice striker (no, not Keane again) ....but Pavluchenko!! .....surely not. I think Pav's agent must be running short of dosh now that he's not getting a game.
Actually, on the subject of Pavluchenko - it always amazes me when a national team manager says a particular player is unlikely to feature in a squad due to their limited opportunities / matches for their clubs. Then, out comes the player / agent with the "I need to move clubs in order to improve my chances of getting a game in the World Cup, etc....".
WRONG ! What you need to do Pavluchenko is PERFORM in training, QUIT WINGEING and make the most of any opportunities when you get a chance in the 1st team (ie. League cup matches), in order to impress your manager. LET YOUR FOOTBALL DO THE TALKING......YOU MIGHT GET A GAME ONE DAY.
You can't blame him for wanting away.Harry has specifically changed his mind about how many strikers he wants. He's nothing if not fickle. I mean, Bent did everything you're asking Pav to do and he still wasn't wanted - so whats the point?
